It started with a date.
In 2020, when the world shut its doors, we found ourselves in Nefta — an oasis town in Tunisia's Tozeur region, and the place Rahma calls home. Much further from where we'd planned to be, and for much longer: we ended up staying more than a year.
Dates had never been our thing. One was always one too many — heavy, cloying, sitting thick in the throat. So the Deglet Noor growing all around us came as a quiet shock. These were nothing like the dark, sugar-sticky kind back home: soft and golden, light on the tongue, with a clean caramel finish that never weighed you down. Ten in a sitting, and you'd still reach for another.
They've been grown that way for generations in these desert oases, and it struck us that back home, we'd never once tasted anything close. Most dates that travel this far are treated like a commodity — stored too long, over-processed, stripped of the very thing that made these unforgettable.
So we set out to change that: to bring these dates, and only these dates, to people who'd never had them at their best. Not as another import on a shelf, but farm-direct — from our Tunisian groves to Australia, nothing added, nothing lost along the way.
That's Aurum. One fruit, done properly.
Farm-direct, start to finish
We own our production in Tunisia, where we control the harvest, pitting, drying, grading and bulk packing for export. The dates are then packed in Australia and dispatched from NSW, with full traceability on every batch. No middlemen, no mystery origins — just the oasis, and you.
Nothing added, ever
No preservatives, sulphites, oils or added sugar. Just the fruit.
Farm-direct
From the Tozeur oases to Australia, fully traceable every step of the way.
